26/11/2014 The Sale Motor Village has some interesting residents:
Port Albert was our chosen day trip destination today. We drove through interesting towns such as Rosedale where Pete broke into song “How Much Is That Doggy In The Window” as he spied the owners dog in the window – very embarrassing!
Port Albert was very cold as the winds were coming straight off Bass Strait. We had planned on just grabbing fish and chips and eating them in the park overlooking the sea but with the wind chill being in the minus degrees we ventured into ‘Wildfish‘, a restaurant right at the end of the wharf. It will now be the benchmark for future fish and chips, berry panna cotta and tiramisu. I need to rephrase that as the tiramisu comes a close second to your tiramisu Tony and David.
Sale definitely has a thing for bridges. Next to the Motor Village there is the current pedestrian bridge over Flooding Creek which replicates the 1930s structure that was built on this site and further out of town is the historic Swing Bridge which has been restored and opens a few days a week as a tourist attraction.
