Jenolan Caves (New South Wales)

6/11/2014  Today we did a day trip from Bathurst to visit the iconic Jenolan Caves. It was only about an hour drive from our base in Bathurst through some very green, beautiful countryside through Oberon to the Caves. The countryside could not have been more different from that between Lightning Ridge and Dubbo! We chose the Imperial Tour as it was stated as the easiest with only 350 or so stairs. It was amazing and I could not imagine how it would have been to be the first to explore these caves with limited lighting. Certainly not for the faint hearted! We would love to have taken more tours, in particular the Orient and River Tours as they are highly recommended, but there was no time for a second cave experience.
