Dubbo (New South Wales)

2/11/2014  On the drive to Dubbo we drove past farms suffering extreme drought conditions and most farms were not harvesting a crop this year. It’s so sad for those hard working farmers. In Dubbo, we visited the Old Dubbo Gaol located right in the main street of town. Of course, we visited the zoo and then on to the Red Earth Vineyard and Winery. We spent many happy hours chatting to the owners and Pete even uploaded their site onto Wikicamps for them – that earnt us a free wine! Just north of Dubbo in the Terramungamine Reserve, we checked out the aboriginal stone grooves, where they sharpened their spears and stone axe heads over many thousands of years.
